Thinking about messing around with some software for recording music (electric guitar) so that I can save it on the computer and potentially add a beat or do something else with this. Don't want anything fancy, would just be for personal use out of curiosity and learning purposes.
What are any good free programs to do this king of stuff?

audacity like the above user mentioned is great for recording... i wouldnt go as far as saying its efficient for adding drums and such into it as would be softwares like ableton, pro tools, fruity loops, etc

they all offer free trials so you can test them out and see which one you like... you can also find free copies online of course if youre savvy but i dont recommend that fam

you'll need an audio interface to record into the software as well, and those other programs that I mentioned besides audacity will let you record into them also
