Black Metal - Topic

I don't think any one person can judge the whole genre that is black metal. Like metal itself it has SO MANY subgenres.
Blackened Death, Blackened Doom, Melodic Black, Symphonic Black...
Who's to say what the best of all that is? IMHO best is Old Man's Child, by far.

from what i've taken from metal forums, primordial is in the upper echelon of quality bands in most people's eyes. cant speak for wittr or drudkh, but you can see a pattern of bands that are highly revered amongst metal lovers (cant listen to people who just like black metal because they are biased). i find if you can get people who like good music and can handle screaming vocals (but dont listen to metal) to actually appreciate the band, the higher quality it is.
