As I alluded to above, Maggot Lair was very slow going. Bugs all over the place of course. I handled all of the non-PIs, while I relied on Jemali's OW and Holy Freeze to slowly kill the bugs. They lined up nicely, and he actually kept full health vs them almost all the time, but it took forever.

Amid the bugs, I also found this little goon. Took forever to kill him, he seemed tougher than the bugs, even the couple bug uniques I ran into. Anyway, he eventually fell too.

And of course the staff room was a clusterfuck. Good number of bugs blocking the way, which Jemali handled, but it let the worms in the background go nuts with eggs and babies. Fortunately the babies die in 1 hit, so it wasn't too bad clearing it really, just absolutely packed with them.

Finally earned (and I mean earned!) my staff.

Expect Claw Viper to be a cakewalk by comparison (knock on wood...), but dreading Arcane, since the ghosts will be able to swarm Jemali, as opposed to lining up neatly as they did in Maggot.

If you have a Lem or the ability to cube up to it, that would make your journey both safer (50%slow/damage reduction) and quicker on breaking those immunes. That maggot layer must have been brutal to walk thru :o

Definitely on the lookout for one, but no such luck yet. I have 1/3rd of one with that Fal, but that's the highest rune other than the Pul from my NM forge which I used to up the ribby. Would really like 2 Lems actually, Lawbringer and Treachery!

You inspired me to keep looking ;)

Ran ~20 Andys and 50 Countess this evening, with a little to show, but nothing game changing.

Countess has been super stingy with runes, aside from this Ist. Other than that, I got 2 Hels, a Fal and nothing else higher than a Dol. Ouch.

Did find this charm, which is definitely a keeper. I've got an inventory full of low-mediocre charms, only one or two which are actually good. Highest life SC I've found is 12 for example, and a bunch of single resist, that kind of thing.

And rerolled this guy. Another mediocre, but usable one.

On to some Andy results. Runs are fairly fast (were actually, I since rerolled the map for a better countess!). Took about a minute, maybe 2 to get to level 4, then ran inside her main room and closed the door behind me. She hits hard, but mostly targets the bear. Andy herself took as long as the rest of the run usually, between recasting bear, sometimes reviving merc, actually killing her, and swapping to MF for last hit.

All in all, didn't have too much luck, highlights below:

Already got one. Was hoping for Raven, and would then roll a prismatic ammy, but no such luck.

Dual shaeled this thing. Not sure if I'll use it. Obviously a huge damage upgrade, but lacks the crowd control and OW on the trusty Woestave. He actually can't use it anyway at this point, he did not follow my Titan footsteps, and doesn't have enough strength!

Thanks!

Ran even more Countess, with even less to show for it, so I decided to keep moving through A2, even without a Lawbringer. Lost City was an easy monster roll, nothing PI, no Scarabs and no nasty packs.

Claw Viper was short, but had some nasty Viper packs, had to pull them apart a bit and pick 'em off. First pack below, they had a Might aura (from the pack in the next shot), plus conviction kept coming on and off, I think it was behind the door on the left, but I didn't open it to find out.

They did drop me a charm upgrade though!

And the second pack, these guys had Amp (which also triggered in the first fight until I pulled them away a bit). Nasty, but appeared to be out of that Conviction range, and I actually killed some of his minions with the first pack, so not too hard.

Claw Viper map here. Short run (green line), but the two packs I killed spawned at the red circles, with the mystery Conviction pack in the yellow circle I think.

Fangskin. Was a little worried here, there were a boatload of Vipers, including a second boss pack, but I was able to kill them quickly enough to avoid getting overwhelmed and backed out of the room.

And my reward!

Fire Eye was np.

Apparently I didn't screenshot anything in Arcane, which is lame, because I was in there for like 2 freakin' hours. The ghosts are much more rugged than the Maggot Lair bugs, and Jemali can't really kill em. So I had to clear all non-ghosts as I went leaving big zones for them, then run ahead a ways until I got a bunch of ghosts following, and lead them back to the clear zone. They're quick, and alternate between targeting me, bear, oak and Jemali, so getting the whole lot of them back without losing them or getting blocked into a path with no escape was not easy. Once I had them back to a 'dead zone', I let Jemali slow them+freeze, cast some ravens for full blinding, charged Feral Rage and ran back ahead to where I found them and TPed, bringing my guys with me.

Basically, each ghost pack got slowly dragged and parked. Oh yeah, and the Summoner was the last way, of course

Anyway, after much ghost-luring, I found the head honcho and killed him.

After all that ghosting, the bear (who was actually more of a hindrance than a help in my ghost luring ventures....) felt he deserved a drink.
