depends on my mood and temp outside. ive been drinking this jade IPA by foothills brewing. its a more mellow/sweet ipa because they use jade hops.

I drink a lot of local beers, well at least try to.

What are your guys favorite ipas? I really want to try alchemist heady topper and cigar city brewing jai alai.
My favorite ipas are kuhnhenn DRIPA, bells hopslam, griffonclaw norms raggedy ass ipa, and kuhnhenn aldebaran Belgian ipa

Stone ruinten. Most of my faves are by stone or southern tier

drinking a 4 pack of this tonight:

Not sure the difference between a Belgian style ale and an ipa, maybe just the yeast? because it tastes just like an ipa...

I'm getting dank and a little spicy hop notes with a sickly sweet malt taste that somehow matches the hops very well.
Not sure about the Belgian yeast or how it affects taste honestly, maybe that's where some of the sweet taste is coming from like the label says.

All in all its a pretty tasty brew from a semi local brewery (in state) so I'd recommend getting a 4 pack of it this month if you can.

Splurged and bought two semi expensive 4 packs of beer last night.

First one was Founders Double Trouble.

This is a double ipa and a seasonal release that just came out this month.
Its a very light colored ipa. I got strong grapefruit notes on the nose, as well as a bit of pine and floral smell.
Taste was pretty similar to the nose, strong grapefruit, some pine and resin tastes as well as a hint of tropical fruit. Also a sweet malty taste,
but the emphasis on this beer is definitely with the hops, just how I like it.
9.4% alcohol which hit me hard later, but I didn't notice an alcohol taste or even any extra heat while drinking it.
Overall great beer, I'd recommend buying a 4 pack, I'll probably grab another myself while its in season even though it had a high price of $13.99.

The second beer I had was Brewdog's Hardcore ipa

This is an imperial ipa, imported from Scotland, and is advertised as the strongest ipa outside the states

I was expecting to be in hop heaven from this brew, it packs a whopping 150 ibu's,
but when I tasted it I was underwhelmed and disappointed. It barely had the hop taste of an single ipa.
This beer was dominated by the sweet malts, which I liked, but didn't match the style.

I really don't know what to make of this beer lol, Like it really was good but just didn't belong in the double ipa category.
Because of the sweetness it was very drinkable though, and with the high alcohol content (9.2%) it hit me hard pretty fast.

ya $12.99 for a 4 pack
was a good beer, just didn't taste at all like a double ipa and wasn't that good for the price.

Was in a hurry at the store earlier (and had a fridge with no beer :( ) so I grabbed my go to, Stone IPA.

AAaaaaahhhhhh.
Always a good brew, pretty easy to find, this is just a seriously solid ipa

My friend just got back from vacation, and he brought back a bunch of beer I wanted to try. First beer I tried was jai alai from cigar city brewing. One of the best ipas I have ever tried easily. It's more of a sweeter ipa and was so smooth. I feel I could drink these all day, and it's out of a can! Next was some Westbrook gose. There is a little hype about this beer but I was not the biggest fan of it. Too salty for me..
Next we had bible belt imperial stout. This was a great stout, not very sweet but you can definitely taste some chili's and chocolate.
the last one we had last night was evil twin imperial glazed doughnut break. This was another solid beer. Kind of reminds me of their biscotti break, but a little sweeter. Definitely had an awesome lineup of beers last night, and still a few more to try!
