ive got 40-50 spices/spice mixtures, but the ones i use most are:

salt
pepper
paprika
smoked paprika
onion
garlic
cumin
coriander
orengano
rosemary
tarragon
curry

What is a decent application for smoked paprika. Always heen told paprika is for color mostly

nah it adds flavor, too. not a super strong one, but its definitely there. smoked paprika is will also add a subtle smokiness.

yeah fish, potatoes and chicken all benefit with paprika.

this is my list

smoked paprika
salt
pepper
cumin
fresh rosemary
shallots
ginger
garlic
fresh basil
fresh thyme
dried oregano
dried chiles

yup. i also sometimes use smoked paprika in my eggs along with tumeric, which is another that most people only know how to use for color but is actually quite fantastic for flavor. it pairs especially well with eggs.


also, if including fresh items, then id also list ginger, cilantro and basil. thsoe are staples...

derp forgot cilantro.

But yeah for sure, eggs. It's amazing in egg salad/potato salad/deviled eggs. Tumeric is great as well, makes the eggs bright yellow.
