1). Nope, 1h is faster than 2handed. You can use a faster weapon to accelerate a slower weapon. For example a pb with -30 and colossus sword with +10 average to (-30+10)/2 = -10. Much easier to accelerate that one to 4fpa.
2). Yes it does:
It's a test of short WWs with a BOTD thundermaul. I wanted to see whether you still get 2 free hits at the start independent from your weapon speed. It seems like yes but the difference seems to be first hit happens at 4fpa and the second at frame 9. With a faith merc, long WWs become more effective but I am not much faster than with short WWs before.
3). Nope, I could noticed one hit check only to 1 target every 4fpa even when dual wielding.
