Massive amounts of power? You must be part of the group that thinks a 200hp minivan is fast. A stock gt is quick. Massive amounts of power indicates that the engine is overpowering the chassis. That's far from the case.
Excuse me? Don't take me for a child and don't start making false assumptions. The 2013 Mustang GT has 420 HP and under my qualifications is a "fast" car......not quick.
I would rather drive a small car, than a larger making the BRZ very appealing to me. With that said, the current generation Mustang is quite impressive.

Nah dude, I've read the reviews, and better yet, I've actually DRIVEN the car... One of the perks of doing work for dealerships.
Is it a decent little coupe?
Yes.
Would it be a nice daily driver?
I can only assume so.
Is it the BEST bang for your buck?
No....it simply is not.
Fun is subjective. To each person it's different.
Just cause a couple dudes with higher end euro sports cars traded (down) in my humble opinion, doesn't mean this car is the best fit for everyone.
Problem is, I know what I want. The BRZ simply doesn't deliver.
I'll admit however I'm a tough sell, since this is MY industry.
Call me old fashioned but I think a flat or straight six will trump a flat 4 boxer engine ANY time. Not to mention the lubrication/oiling problems boxers are notorious for, and the fact that they are noisy little motors..They'd be so much better off with a timing BELT rather than a heavy ass chain.
But if you're buying the car, and you like it, whats the problem? You're the one who has to drive it. You don't need our approval.
I'll take my 40 year old Datsun, and enjoy the thrill of an acceptable power to weight ratio, in ANY direction.
Finally, a post I can work with.
I wouldn't say "just a couple dudes" have been praising this car.....All written reviews and videoed reviews are praising it. Yes, it does lack the some power but they over look it because of how much they are enjoying the car. Subaru has already stated that they are working on a "faster version" but will not have a factory turbo.
I'm not claiming that this car is for everyone. I understand you have high standards and this car doesn't quite meet it but it sure as hell is meeting the expectations of current owners. I also never asked for anyone's approval, all I asked for was that if anyone were to talk about this car, that they would at least put time in to research and learn about the very high praising that the BRZ is getting.
As for the fun factor, of course people have opinions but as said before, it's common to hear reviewers of this car to say that this is the most fun car they have driven.
Watch the mustang vs brz clip i posted..... although the mustang won by 1.5 seconds, he clearly enjoyed the BRZ more.
It's obvious that the second generation BRZ will be quite impressive.
