I know what balance means and refers to.......

And it's perfectly fine that you're choosing massive amounts of power. You just have to understand that many people are trading in their high hp cars for a more fun driving experience.

Massive amounts of power? You must be part of the group that thinks a 200hp minivan is fast. A stock gt is quick. Massive amounts of power indicates that the engine is overpowering the chassis. That's far from the case.

Excuse me? Don't take me for a child and don't start making false assumptions. The 2013 Mustang GT has 420 HP and under my qualifications is a "fast" car......not quick.

I would rather drive a small car, than a larger making the BRZ very appealing to me. With that said, the current generation Mustang is quite impressive.

Nah dude, I've read the reviews, and better yet, I've actually DRIVEN the car... One of the perks of doing work for dealerships.

Is it a decent little coupe?

Yes.

Would it be a nice daily driver?

I can only assume so.

Is it the BEST bang for your buck?

No....it simply is not.

Fun is subjective. To each person it's different.

Just cause a couple dudes with higher end euro sports cars traded (down) in my humble opinion, doesn't mean this car is the best fit for everyone.

Problem is, I know what I want. The BRZ simply doesn't deliver.

I'll admit however I'm a tough sell, since this is MY industry.

Call me old fashioned but I think a flat or straight six will trump a flat 4 boxer engine ANY time. Not to mention the lubrication/oiling problems boxers are notorious for, and the fact that they are noisy little motors..They'd be so much better off with a timing BELT rather than a heavy ass chain.

But if you're buying the car, and you like it, whats the problem? You're the one who has to drive it. You don't need our approval.

I'll take my 40 year old Datsun, and enjoy the thrill of an acceptable power to weight ratio, in ANY direction.

Finally, a post I can work with.

I wouldn't say "just a couple dudes" have been praising this car.....All written reviews and videoed reviews are praising it. Yes, it does lack the some power but they over look it because of how much they are enjoying the car. Subaru has already stated that they are working on a "faster version" but will not have a factory turbo.

I'm not claiming that this car is for everyone. I understand you have high standards and this car doesn't quite meet it but it sure as hell is meeting the expectations of current owners. I also never asked for anyone's approval, all I asked for was that if anyone were to talk about this car, that they would at least put time in to research and learn about the very high praising that the BRZ is getting.

As for the fun factor, of course people have opinions but as said before, it's common to hear reviewers of this car to say that this is the most fun car they have driven.

Watch the mustang vs brz clip i posted..... although the mustang won by 1.5 seconds, he clearly enjoyed the BRZ more.

It's obvious that the second generation BRZ will be quite impressive.

425 HP GT>200 HP van...
400+ is pretty decent power wise and there are GTs pushing 600+ with S/C's.

I dont consider my modded 07 GT "fast" but its definitely quick and with a bit of suspension work I wouldnt worry too much going up against a BRZ especially seeing as a paid 8k for the car 2 years old.

You guys don't seem to get the point of this car and are completely overlooking reviewers and owners who say they wouldn't want to drive any other car for the price along with people trading in their "better" cars for this.  I read today that someone traded in his s4 for one.  High power isn't everything

Have you never heard of the miata before???
Its pretty much the same as the BRZ except a convertible and you sure dont see everyone trading their nice cars for them. BUT you do see a decent bit of miatas as track cars. Then again, there are kits that drop LS7's into miatas and only add ~200 lbs evenly distributed. IMO that is where its at. Buy the miata, handle just as well as the BRZ (and be cheaper) then drop some serious power in it and keep up with the ferraris and vipers.

The "fun driving experience" thing is getting old. Ok I get it, you can go fast around a turn. Good luck pulling hard out of it. I drive out lowered miata with some pretty sticky tires every now and then and sure its fun flying through a corner but it sucks when you get on the gas and dont go anywhere.

And im pretty sure ive read a few places that rated the newer mustang the best buy under $50k (didnt include the brz obviously) and seeing as its only $32k its fairly unimpressive to be the best under 30k.

beating a car by a bit over a second isnt that impressive when its $4k more expensive to buy a brz than a miata

Just get a supercharger or turbo kit for the miata under 4k and its game, blouses.

the mustang also had a track package including better tires. the mustang also has over 100 more hp......

You could just turbo the BRZ......

Adding mods isn't part of this conversation.......seriously. Stock vs Stock comparisions ALWAYS....

A. I was talking miata not mustang
B. Perhaps you havent bothered reading the earlier posts then.
The V6 mustang is 4k cheaper than the BRZ. So if you are going to compare cars in a 4k window, the GT is only 4k more expensive. Why not compare it?
Oh, thats right, cause it will rape the BRZ sideways.

I half expected a poorly worded argument saying why its unfair to compare it to the GT. Oh well...
