I feel like a crack head at this point. I NEED to hear this thing run. If I don't hear it soon I might start shaking and scratching.
Help a brotha out mayne!

You and me both. *scratches palms*

I'll have dat fiyah in a couple of months, though...

But seriously...It'll probably catch fire when I go to start it. Haha.

A couple more mechanical details to purchase, and figure out. Then it's EFI electrical stuff (about another 1000 dollars). Which is the last step before driving.

So I LOVE powdercoating. It's a very cool process.

Wrinkle Black powder arrives tomorrow, so that's when the big changes will happen.

But first impressions of powder coating: AMAZINGLY easy, and very fun.

Nothing like coating a product and bolting it on 20 minutes later.

Here is my first experiment: Powdercoat a red skeleton key as a test, for my friend.

Extremely durable finish. Physically impossible to make any sort of scratch to the finish with fingernails. Very impressed.

Would recommend this kit to anyone.

And here was some more fooling around.

Almost unnoticeable, but I powder coated my return fuel line brackets "machine grey". Cleans it up just a little bit more than before. Marked improvement.

Before:

like 25 minutes later. Some blemishes, but I put very little prep into these.

So much potential! Love it

Once the part is prepped and hanging.

From when you start spraying powder to when you are bolting the part back on the car, is around 30 minutes.

5 minutes to apply the powder, if that.

Then bake in the oven for 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes-ish give or take. Or until you see "flow out" which just means the part goes from a dusty, flat appearance, to a gloss.

It's CRAZY. I even dropped one of the brackets, and stepped on it, on accident, RIGHT after bringing it out of the oven.

Not a scratch.

Couldn't ever do that with paint. No matter what kind.

A hundred bucks for the kit. (like 109 or something)

and 60 for the toaster oven.

You need a source of at least .5 cfm compressed air capable of 5-8 psi. Like an air compressor, or even a small air tank.

so 200 dollars for a system that is infinitely better than painting, when it comes to durability, and quality.

I'd recommend it to anyone looking to learn a useful, and profitable new skill.

Not to say that I've mastered this in a day. But I certainly am having a lot of fun learning the process until I do.

One of my friends powdercoats wheels on the side (or anything someone might need within a reasonable size) and makes some decent coin. Really takes off during the spring/summer when everyone is trying to get their rides out.
