Your local vet will help you here. Even without a charge they should be able to tell you what's going on. Looks like an infection risk to me, you may want you put a little neosporin on it if he'll let you.

He's a really pretty cat...you should just adopt him.

this i dont know if you live in ontario but most of the time if you take it to local pet shelter or what not and tell them you found cat they will take it in and treat it then adopt it after. i had to cats before and both were well trained and acted like dogs lol

she does not have an open wound its completely closed its just a small scar with 2 wires sticking out im guessing from surgery
the reason i dont adopt her is because i already have an extremely territorial cat or i would have taken her in and i havent taken her to the shelter because she loves the outdoors.. what are the cat kill rate in shelters? i live in los angeles

We've had several cats spayed by different vets and never had one use wire, I've always just removed the stitches when it's time with thread it's quite simple. The wire is more of a question.
Your cat BTW. is a beauty I love that pattern the broken lines look like spots, it's pretty unique for me at least

Find a cat society. I'm sure there are dozens in a place like LA. Exposed wires are bad in circuitry, and I'd imagine in felines as well. If that cat is well behaved it'll be adopted immediately due to it being cool looking.

If the right thread was used it will disolve on its own. a wire probably means someone abused it..
