started my mouse rack. this is just an idea of what im working on, and isnt going to necessarily reflect my finished product, but i did need a visual of how the drawers would hang. these are the larger buckets, going to be used for feeders (for myself or sale). I intend to use 12 smaller buckets (6 on each shelf) dedicated for breeding only. two shelves of these bigger buckets to hold about 50 mice each, 2 shelves of 6 smaller buckets holding a female to male ratio of 5-6:1.
width of about 55"
just showing the drwaer action. that front cover is only there to help allign
wheels are a must. i will wheel the shelves to a spot in my garage to get a breeze to help air it out as well as keep the mice cool. I may even add fans to the unit when its complete.

for similar builds from companies who specialize in this, they are anywhere from $1k -2k. My total cost in materials as of now is less than $200.

reptile show in san diego this weekend. I'll be heading there saturday with a buddy of mine. probably pick up some feeders since mine arent breeding due to the heatwave were having on the west coast. may or may not pick up some new snakes. havent decided. cages for sure though.

been awhile since an update. an accident a few months back halted or delayed my projects, and some revisions wwere made mid project, but i have a nearly finished product on my mouse rack.

decided to change the buckets im usingafter the base was already built, that explains the nonsense on the bottom rack. Ive decided to do one more shelf then the top will house a 5 gallon bucket that water each unit through a hose and nozzle.

initially expected to spend up to $500 on materials. I'm barely at $250 and nearly done.

very nice snakes, years ago i had 2 ball pythons, 3 corn snakes, and a burmese. how do you keep the mice from over populating? i cant imagine you feed enough to your snakes to keep the mice population in check? either way, bad ass man.

any excess mice I either sell or freeze. A few weeks back we had a heat wave and my mice weren't breeding, the frozen i had saved me that week. The idea now is to breed the mice for profit now.

Finished product. A few design changes along the way, but I'm finally done. nothing major, and I was learning as i went. During this photo, the bucket I used was curing after attaching the nozzle that will feed water into the lines.
