why are they prone to bite afterwards?

so they eat a rat/mouse every 3 days?

edit.

i am guessing cuase the food is being digested and it makes them feel uncomfortable?

no sir you wait 2-3 days for the snake to let its stomach settle if you try to handle early you risk a bite (Bee sting) dont pull back your hand and let it happen the snake will let go
if you pull back you run the risk of ripping out the teeth which isnt that big of a deal for a captive snake because you can fresh kill their food you can manually feed them threw a syringe

thats horrible way to put it.. i;ve had over 20 snakes NEVER have I had to wait 3 days to hold my snake after eating... i would only go to that extent if it was a venomous cobra or something. if your snake never bites, it's not going to bite you. that's it

you sir are wroong sorrry to inform you

Nervous snakes will tend to be defensive, and ball pythons have poor vision. A hiding ball python is a happy ball python. After checking all of the above, you should wait for 48 hours after your snake eats, before handling it.Jun 12, 2013

a simple google will prove this

Unavoidable Interactions

If unforeseeable circumstances necessitate moving your snake immediately after a meal, do so with great care. Realize that some snakes are aggressive immediately following a meal, likely to strike just about anything that enters their cage. After letting your snake calm down for several hours, slowly move him as necessary. Support his head and body as you normally would, but try not to touch his stomach bulge if you can help it.

How are you going to tell me I can't hold a snake 3 days after it eats because I'll automatically get bit, I've had snakes since I was 8 years old I feed them outside the tank and within 5 minutes of them eating I have to pick them up and put them back or sometimes put them right around my neck and guess what.. never been bitten that way! Fuck your google searches lol
