Looking to add flow jet to the tank
I'm getting one that is 120gph but only one
The sand I have is very fine and grainy so I'm afraid it'll shift the sand
Which direction do I point the jet?

I hear and read this and the opposite of this a lot
But more specifically Angels and discus
Discus can be kept with other fish
I know 3 people who had Angels and discus and had no problems
The only problems I know about are from people online who posted about them not being compatible but did not actually experience it
I take this knowledge in and will see how the tank goes
I will give away the Angels to a friend if they become a problem
I monitor my tank frequently so it shouldn't get out of hand

I'm just saying I've worked with some of the best discus people in the business. I'm not an expert, not even close. But they would say do not keep other fish with them. Regardless they are to pretty to be uglied up with some Angels. Do you buy your discus from pet stores or online ?

Ill argue untill i die that you can keep other fish with discuss. I have an 8fter with 13 discus(including a breeding pair), 6 angels 2 of which are extremely expensive veil tails, to amny peoples disbeliefs 4 massive silver sharks and massive rainbow shark and ive lost count of how many loaches.

The whole discus by themself thing is really just an opinion of those who think they know aquariums and fish but really just struggle with the ability to keep discus alive.

Its all about the enviromwnt in which they live in and can hide in.

I have a mate who has 2 discus in with a whole bunch of cichlids, thats meant to be inpossible, but really, 90% of the time its just luck.

What filtration are you running on the discus tank?
And to answer your question on the flow jet, mines about 3/4 of the tank high. I had the problems of it pushing my sand around heaps.
Anothet suggestion to you is to also get alot more drift wood and plants in there, discus live of driftwood and its a brilliant thing for you to have. Anubas on driftwood would have to be my favourite. And for some colour you can also definitely look at adding some small tetras for the grouping affect. They dont harm your discus at all.
