hi guys, ok i will try to make this short and sweet. so today i was walking my pet turtle alexander around the yard and i have one of those stakes that people use for dogs to keep them on a chain. basically i have modified a harness so it fits snug enough on his shell that he cant get loose, i mean its not like the guy is gonna take of sprinting lol
anyways i forgot i had left him and as i was backing out of my driveway to go to work, i heard a devastating crunch. we can't afford another vet bill but i dont want my best friend to die, be murdered, by myself so i am looking for any and all suggestions to help alex to a good recovery. please no spam or telling me to glue him back together i am not in the mood for games when his life in danger. i will post a pic for you guys to see the damage

He's fucked. I'm sorry to say.
My buddy was backing out of his driveway and ran over his own pug dog. :( was a sad day. He had a super long tongue for a pug and always loved peeing on other people's tires.
But let's be honest. He looks like he was cracked open by being slammed on the ground by an osprey. It's part of him and it's kinda broke

Tough to say, but it looks bad, likely fatal. Often their shells are thick enough to prevent much, but not a car. Without a vet, the best I can suggest is a good rinse, dark greens diet (fresh spinach, etc) and keep him indoors under a reptile lamp. Warm, but not hot. The lamp should provide vitamins he would get naturally in the sun. But reptiles are prone to infection and its very tough for them to get through it.
Is the inner shell breached or just outer? Think of the shell like a finger nail. Tear it off and bleed, but there's a small chance this is just shell damage. But with the weight of a car, I just don't ser a good outcome.

short of something like immediate reconstructive surgery the turtle will die from infection or blood loss.

put it out of its misery.

Lend some money from friends/family and send him to a fucking vet immediately, don't sit here and ask for suggestions on the forum

do it quick before he dies of pain because you were a fool

/nvm two days old post hes prolly dead
