GEZodiacThe information is pretty much falsified as companies like to use countries where they do not even offer their games at the same time, sometimes months after NA/EU/JP releases(staggered releases are terrible) , or altogether skip over certain countries because there is a track record of "piracy". Aint piracy if it is not offered.
Also, places like Brazil (often skipped over by publishers due to "piracy") often see our 60$ game at 100-120$ local currency due to taxes and fees.
Publishers want to use false information to punish their customers, and if they want to abandon pc gaming for consoles and they shove a pipe up their rear so be it.
When ALL of Square enix titles of late have "failed" (tomb raider BEST seller of the entire franchise, hitman, and sleeping dogs) with their 2+ million sales (1.7m sleeping dogs), then From software relishes in its success and thanks their community for supporting them for their 2.3 million when demon souls STILL succeeded with only like 300k sales, it shows what is going on here.
Bloated companies are dying, and want to blame everything on everyone else, and everyone else being to consumer. Be it a paying, or one that they are unwilling to extend a hand to to allow them to BUY their game.
Cant say i disagree.

Yes, and most games that have high budget costs are not making a lot of money. Games as good as Skyrim are becoming much rarer than they used to be.
Can't really compare an RTS with a game like GTA.
Skyrim was garbage compared to morrowind, just another console port with good graphics and shallow story and gameplay.

Skimmed through the article.
They aren't reporting false numbers.
The issue is potential bias in their forecasts.
Let me ask you something.
Do you even understand the article? Do you understand the issues with the model?
They are not reporting false numbers?
In 2011, the copyright industry reported losses higher than the gdp of 10 states.
