Well, apparently we do. The evidence lies in how chaotic our world is at the moment.
When you say stuff like it's our responsibility and it's all about what we do, that is exactly the mindset of the Pharisees, the same Pharisees who always clashed with Jesus.
Here is the perfect parable that Jesus told in Luke 18:9-14
The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
I'll even post a video for you to dodge and not watch.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWK2edNPPXEThat passage is not valuable at all cause both are praying - which I would never do. Both belittle themselves and kneel in devotion.
I dont do hat. I am confident in myself and my abilities. There is no one else to thank for how I am. Except for my parents.
Tax Collector and Pharisee just tried to look good in front of god. But only one of them was smart enough to figure out what papi wanted to hear.
Thats all. Another worthless story straight into the trash. My mind isnt simple enough for this kind of nonsense, sorry.
