Its important to think for yourself instead of shifting it all over to a probably fictional character. You dont need to make god responsable for your moral compass. You and ONLY you are responsable for your actions and your moral views. You dont need a book or the alleged word of someone you cant see or speak to to do the right thing. The right thing in your opinion that is.
It is nkthing more than an excuse for your own weak character to give responsability into the hands of some omnipotent superdude. Its all you. The good things and the bad things.
Well, apparently we do. The evidence lies in how chaotic our world is at the moment.
When you say stuff like it's our responsibility and it's all about what we do, that is exactly the mindset of the Pharisees, the same Pharisees who always clashed with Jesus.
Here is the perfect parable that Jesus told in Luke 18:9-14
The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
I'll even post a video for you to dodge and not watch.
