That's well and good, but it clearly can't be left up to individuals to decide what is or isn't in the public interest. If he felt it was necessary that's fine, but he should turn himself over to the American authorities and accept prosecution as the requisite reward for breaking the law.

And what about the American government breaking the law?

I hope he gets pardoned quickly only so the chinese don't snatch his ass up and extract him for more information. The alternative here would (naturally) be batman, for he has no jurisdiction.

Oh in that case its OK to keep it a secret that they are spying on everyone for no good reason.

But we can rely on secret courts that are, for all intents and purposes, designed to to circumvent oversight, to determine what is, and what is not Constitutional?

If it's unconstitutional it needs to be deemed unconstitutional through the proper judicial processes

I think we have different interpretations of what constitutes "proper judicial process."

Because we all know government agencies operate flawlessly.

What happened to the days when whistleblowers were lauded in this country, not mowed down?

Government worship is the new patriotism.

...they need the courts permission to spy on me . I am not intimidated at all that they might have my IP address , phone number ..etc . Do you actually think that someone is reading in on you or cares a single whit what your political opinions happen to be ?

American government breaking American law? There is something codified somewhere to justify everything they do I'm sure.

Internationally there is no law.

The people effected the most are the very narcissistic people on facebook who thought that what they submitted to that website still belonged to them after it was stored on their servers.

Really naive and narcissistic. Things should be a certain way and they are really really important. Enough so that the US government is spying on them because they wrote Ron Paul's name on their presidential ballot.

They think they're terrorists, so yes, it's only logical to think they're being spied on.

I feel like the anger is misdirected....the only way the NSA gets the data is when they request it from PRIVATE companies. You should ask yourself WHY all the data from Facebook, Skype, Google, Verizon, etc. is being stored...

These companies are more guilty than the US government.

As for Snowden, the US needs to capture him ASAP and try him in American courts.
