If "fat people" are nearly collapsing in the gym due to exhaustion, obviously their trainers are idiots.    (that's a different subject all together)

What I've discovered over the years.

Americans are willing to spend money on making our lives easier.
Americans are about having results immediately.  For example- We microwave our dinner or hit the drive-thru.  We have internet access at the palm of our hands.
Americans for the most part are pretty lazy if not motivated.

Video games, internet and cable/satellite tv does not help either.

Stereotypes for the win.

Yes. I sure hope you aren't one of those people who think that children should choose if and what to learn when they're still underage.

no , im one of those crazy people who believe the parents get to say what their kids study and learn , not a teacher , or a board
which is why people like me support variation in individual curriculum in state schools , and non-state schools , giving parents broader options

some people are not good at maths , we have calculators , people can live totally functional lives without knowing anything above basic addition , etc
so why do you believe its ok to force a child , against his/her parents wishes , to take and retake a class , over and again , simply because

people who want to feed their kids crap , and let them sit around all day , are allowed to
no matter what you may think about it

if a high school kid takes a german class , and fails , its ok to force them to do it over ?
nevermind what the kid thinks , or his parents , etc

there is such a thing as a basic education , and someone who fails every subject clearly has problems
but there is also such a thing as variation in intellect , and making someone who cant perform a task , repeat it over and over , is , among other things , cruel

you advocate using the power of the state to compel , with no rational given , other than you believe it should be this way

This is also why I would say that those children who are overweight and still in school, should be forced to follow extra PE classes.

That wouldn't be very helpful. Physical activity is great for being healthy, but it doesn't work alone, without a change in diet.
It doesn't matter how many PE classes they take if they're still consuming 4500 calories a day.

There has actually been recent studies that show that people have a genetic disposition to being overweight and that if you are overweight as a child its ridiculously hard to lose weight as an adult as your size seems to be hardcoded into your dna.
Ill try to find a source, i saw a current affairs report on it a few weeks ago.
Makes me feel bad for making fun of fatties.

Except for the part where obesity is only a recent epidemic caused by cheap and widespread availability of junk food in the western diet, and how previously healthy people often become overweight or obese after moving to America.

It's ok to violently force someone to accept a health regiment of your choosing as long as it's in your opinion of their best interest obv. :bonk:

Fat acceptance will never be the norm. People will turn on the fatties just like people go after smokers. Once you realize that the obese are wracking up HUGE ( lol ) costs and expenses for our medical systems, travel infrastructure, etc, that will be the end of it.
