So I just saw this linked in an e-mail from my fitness buddy:

http://bcove.me/a91xen3w

Along with that there has been quite a lot of outrage over the budget airlines decision to make obese people pay double seats if they don't fit in one. Some fat folks even got on tv, saying that them being fat wasn't their fault, along with other excuses including blaming their parents, genetics, etc.

People who are fat and are trying to change deserve respect and commendation. When I see a fat guy nearly collapsing in the gym due to exhaustion I'm cheering for them in the back of my head. However, those people who argue that them being fat is somehow healthy disgust me. People who never actually tried, and expected one week of diet change to make them a model.

This is also why I would say that those children who are overweight and still in school, should be forced to follow extra PE classes.

Obesity and morbid obesity are classified by doctors.

And not getting a's in normal classes would equal to being a normal weight, but not a exceptional sportsman.

If kids are getting extremely low grades in school I certainly would approve of extra study classes for those who lag behind!

a's are for extrodonary.

c's are average.

there are several classes that require a c average for kids to move on, forieng language classes, math classes, and physic classes to name a few.

like if you get a d in spanish 1, you have to retake spanish 1 or take intro to spanish.

or if you got a d in geometry youd have to take pre calc before calc, and if you got a d in pre calc youd have to take it again and get a c or better to take calc.

in my school gym was only required 2 of the 3 years (10-12) while i dont feel a student who is obese should have to alter their school schedule to take extra gym classes, i do feel a child who has repeatedly done poorly in gym class should have to take 3 years of gym instead of just 2.

Yes. I sure hope you aren't one of those people who think that children should choose if and what to learn when they're still underage.

...I can't fathom how anyone could fault remedial education for struggling students . Of course in my day remedial school work was handled following parent-teacher discussions and then monitored by the parent at home for compliance .

There has actually been recent studies that show that people have a genetic disposition to being overweight and that if you are overweight as a child its ridiculously hard to lose weight as an adult as your size seems to be hardcoded into your dna.
Ill try to find a source, i saw a current affairs report on it a few weeks ago.
Makes me feel bad for making fun of fatties.

If "fat people" are nearly collapsing in the gym due to exhaustion, obviously their trainers are idiots. (that's a different subject all together)

What I've discovered over the years.

Americans are willing to spend money on making our lives easier.
Americans are about having results immediately. For example- We microwave our dinner or hit the drive-thru. We have internet access at the palm of our hands.
Americans for the most part are pretty lazy if not motivated.

Video games, internet and cable/satellite tv does not help either.

Is there a sarcastic tone to this that I'm missing?
