Regarding dating apps and hook up culture. Its usually a needle in a haystack. Depending on how you look as male you can have sex a lot with a lot of different women and as a women (doesnt matter how old you are or how you look) the same goes as well. Basically you can create an account as a 70 year old granny and wake up the next day with 400 likes from different dudes because , well, you have a warm wet hole and tits. The users there usually are looking for instant gratification, are addicted to the dopamin kicks (he wrote back!!) and not stabile "boring" meaningful, deep, long lasting relationships and its a heaven and playground for mentally disordered people or attention seekers. Especially women use it for ego boosts. For average males its usually a disaster and can break your self esteem if you dont understand the dynamic behind and from a female perspective it can screw your self image and inflate your ego because of men liking everything that has tits. Its a vicious circle and is designed like that to keep printing money.
For women it can also lead to heartache because youre getting pumped and dumped by professional daters. Its understandable that women cant write with 400 males at the same time so you will focus on the best looking ones usually with pre-prepared pickup lines who will pump & dump you and share 80% of the women. Basically its a clusterfuck for most people lol, its part of the lonely economics. These apps are designed to be like and that users stay on those apps and dont leave them (or will come back) otherwise they wouldnt create a stream of revenue. It can work though but its very rare. The apps are designed to use the weak points of man (wanting sex) and women (wanting validation and attention and the next prince charming is just one click away so youre never happy with what you have) for profit.
It is a mess.
The biggest problem is that apps need to attract a lot of women to stay afloat money-wise and the only way to do that is to make it free and easy for them.
Women get tons of matches, can filter men by height, and rarely if ever have to pay for plus memberships. Those types of women definitely arent the long-term potential ones either.
Apps that force women to pay like Match are even worse. Women don't pay, so 90% of the profiles are inactive.
