Remember how Dinesh D'Souza got convicted on a felony straw donor charge and received 5 years probation and a $30,000 fine for organizing a handful of people to be reimbursed for donations by him to republicans? Well, a Democrat just got convicted of a similar scheme for straw poll donations to democratic mayor eric adams. And unlike the D'Souza case where they simply wanted to help get a candidate elected, these straw donors explicitly wanted political favors from city hall. What did they get? A single misdemeanor charge, 200 hours of community service and a year of probation that only extends to being prohibited from hosting fundraisers or soliciting contributions for that year. They had Dinesh D'Souza put into a halfway house but this guy just gets a rap on the knuckles and a promise to be a good boy and not do it again. Maybe Dinesh shoulda used some skin darkening products, he coulda passed for one of Adams' crew
