Earth is not flat. Earth is not convex like you've been told.

You should look up the concept of epicycles.

You can fit any data if you are willing to pile on enough assumptions. This is just a case of piling on a massive number of assumptions to fit the data, when you can fit it far more easily by just assuming a round earth with gravitational attraction.
