The character itself doesn't matter, it's the equipment you're using and how quickly you kill the mobs.

The ability to kill 3 EP's at level 55+ i would suggest is on the highest priority.
Having ML will probably help. How much it helps is extremely difficult to proove, other than we can say for a fact it gives a chance for overspawn drops.
also 99% of drops are generally solo
They are generally split between well drops and EP drops.

Therefore you're looking for a character who can tank and deal with EPs and well monsters.

Generally in terms of cheapest items to get one which works would be a barb/fighter with chains/plates (if the price is cheap), clubs and strength charms, or alternatively use a magic luck charm.
Using swords will mean you can use the same setup for barb/samurai/paladin.
Powerstrike/Powercast are the most ideal abilities when solo'ing and hunting EP's, although with enough points, getting it to 60-70 is reasonably easy.

It's also reasonably to use a staff rogue. Staff's are also cheap, EE scales/leathers are a little expensive, but worthwhile and dex/ml charms.

Here's 2 example chars both doing it:
My own barb:
Magical godwood club
Level Req: 55
Damage: 129 to 584

+207% Enhanced Effect

Legendary ultimanium plate mail
Level Req: 55
Physical Defense: 95 to 286
Magical Defense: 0 to 34

+135% Enhanced Effect
+1 Strength
+18 Max Life
+3 Extra Equipment Slots
+1 to 51 Mana per Kill
+1% Quick Draw
+1% Glancing Blow

Mystical wind XII
Level Req: 45
Spell Damage: 25 to 113
Mana Cost: 93

+52 Strength
+2% Experience Gained
+7% Physical Damage Reduction

Total cost ~7.5k

If i could change anything, i'd be looking for new armor as casting mobs can wreck him pretty fast, so i often prioritise killing them with power strike, as healer mobs literally do nothing to him.
Clears well mobs and easily does EP's even at level 70 and down a trap door or two (although i use fish/shrines for a bit of healing if needed)

Another players very similar character (also uses barb)
Magical godwood club
Level Req: 55
Damage: 196 to 882

+178% Enhanced Effect

Rare crystallized scale armor
Level Req: 45
Physical Defense: 47 to 188
Magical Defense: 28 to 85

+138% Enhanced Effect
+4% Physical Damage Reduction

Rare heal XIII
Level Req: 50
Heals: 39 to 104
Mana Cost: 101

+11 Magic Luck
+7 Life Regen

cost ~2500-3500 fg.

I THINK I KNOW THIS GUY

Both my and the other guy use barb over fighter for 2 reasons:
1. higher strength/vita (less dex but at level 55 the crit rate is around 1% whether or not we're fighter or barb anyway)
2. Has secondary abilities, i suspect both of us mostly use power strike, but knockdown is more versatile than bottoms up and retribution is a good addition.

Samurai has 2 good solo abilities, whilst paladin is less useful.

I used to also use a cast setup but it struggles against 3 EP spawns at level 65 plus, so would probably suggest a barb over a magician. also 90% of the community dislike solo'ing for casting.

Great advice here
Also want to add that I personally prefer retribution for soloing since it gives huge damage to one enemy (great against well monsters or ep’s)

If you don't have gear barbarian or fighter.

If you're looking to hunt maps, wells etc, rogue.

Barb starting vita with str is good for cheap new weapons and beginner classes as well as single target abilities much better for damage with less good gear.

Rogue gear is much more expensive.

rogues can use scales and leather with EE both are preferable over plates, although they generally cost more for 100ee +

Try just looking in the drops, if they don't post their ML, presume they weren't using any. only 2 posted any amounts of magic luck, although i believe one of the others had a negligible 1-3ML or something.
Magic luck is only for use with solo/muting. No point in group magic lucking as far as i'm aware.

When you said you didnt got any good, did you not get anything even worth 100fg? As it's obviously uncommon to get great drops.
Also as i mentioned evil presences are the main droppers whilst solo'ing (potentially excluding wells), did you kill all of them? as a 110 ee sword with your armor would take a while to kill them.

This is not a “get rich quick” type of game. Yes you COULD get lucky and find that rare item worth 100-50,000 fg) but it is super rare. Also, the higher your level, generally the better your chances at finding something decent. Worse case you can find a lot of white lvl 25 and up items that can sell from 1 fg to 65 depending on the level.
