So on Jan 2nd my dog went in for emergency surgery she had a open pyometra. The surgery went well but she got a infection and started bleeding really bad from the incision site so I took her to the 24 hour emergency vet on Sunday Jan 6th. The vet cleaned the incision. They gave her antibiotics and got the bleeding to stop. The emergency vet told me to take her to my regular vet the next day. I call my vet on Monday Jan 7th but the doctor that did my dog's surgery wasn't in that day and said to bring her in the next day. I take her to my vet on Tuesday Jan 8th. The vet looks her over and says she looks good. He puts in a few staples to be safe and gives me some more pain pills.

On the way home from the vet a car pulled out in front of me and I T-boned it. My car was totaled and somehow my dog got out of the car and took off running down the street. I was in shock and had to be helped out of the car. I was yelling at the people helping me to please get my dog telling them that she just got staples in her belly. They tried to get her but she was scared and ran from them. My father-in-law had to come and get her. He found her about 4 miles away from where I had the accident. After I get out of the Hospital like 8 hours later (nothing to bad just 2 broken fingers and some cuts) I get home and check my dog's incision and it doesn't look to bad just a little discharge coming out. the stitches and staples looked like they held there was no gaping. I have been checking her incision and this morning I found a little sack sticking out of the incision.

Should I take her back to the emergency vet?

Just got back from the emergency vet. They said they think she blew out her internal stitches. They want to reopen her and see what's going on. They say that it looks like fat but it could be connected to her intestines. They want $1500 to do the surgery but I can't afford that. I already had to take out a credit card and max it out for her first surgery. The vet cleaned it and gave her some more antibiotics. I'm taking her to her regular vet on Monday to see if they can do it cheaper. I'm selling everything of value that I have but if I can't come up with the money I guess I will have to put her down

I am sending thoughts and prayers your way. The loss of a dog is equal amount of pain as it is the loss of a family member. I really hope things turn around for you and your pup. Keep us posted.

Thank you so much. It means a lot to me.

I took here to the regular vet on Tuesday Nov 15 and they did the surgery for $300 a lot cheaper then the emergency vet quoted me. The vet said that was fat coming out and it was connected to her intestines. The vet also said that he triple reinforced the incision. My dog's incision looks like Frankenstein's monster so many stitches. She is home now and resting 🙏 she seems to be doing okay. I have been giving her antibiotics and pain medicine everyday that the vet gave me. I hope nothing else goes wrong and she heals fast.

I will update is anything else happens or when she is 100%
