Wrong. Nobody offers because the day and age of "Bidding" on items is long gone. You (The Seller) either know what you want for the item, or its not truly for sale. I don't bid specifically because I will not waste my time getting FG if you do not have a price. Everyone that holds onto gear has a general idea of its current value, or can refer to sale logs vs. what they paid for it.
As for what killed this game, it was making it completely Multi-player and forcing everyone to rely on having five man groups on top of moving well into a "Lets fucking find Waldo" situation in the catacombs. In addition you have a timer drop sytem that randomly gives everything to the same people and makes it undesirable to do a full explore. Although I will agree that we as the community have definitely pushed away all new players, but maybe if the game had been left as the competitive solo play it used to be (which made everyone strive to be awesome at "Proficiencies/items/GP's/CLimb Time/Chain Counter/Etc) then this would not have happened.
