Holmes wasn't a very good defender....which is why he didn't get many minutes and instead Amir Johnson played the backup center position.

Holmes was flashy, and athletic, but his fundamentals weren't there to be consistent on defense. If he was a good defender, he would have easily had the backup job all season.


Bolden is a better defender, hence Brett Brown's desire to get him over here on the roster.
