Introducing: St. Sebastian the Patron Saint of Soldiers

He'll start in e-z mode with Zeal + Holy Fire before respec'ing to Vengeance + Conviction once I find a high enough damage weapon.

Basic Skill Plan

20 - Vengeance
20 - Conviction
20 - Holy Shield
Rest - Resist Lite, Resist Cold

I'm in NM Act 1 right now, and I'm considering if I want to respec now or keep going with Zeal + Fire. I just made a Black Jagged Star (44-68 physical damage), which will do respectable Vengeance damage until I can grind / farm / pray / sacrifice for a Butcher's. What all do you all think? Respec this guy now?

I played an Avenger as well. Heres my opinion. Fuck hs, speck into dmg and use a 2h weapon for more...

Nice! I do like Avengers. Will be following.

Could be worth keeping with Zeal + Black until you find what you’re after, the CB will be good for boss killing.

Further down the line, Oath in an eth elite base is a great (and cheap) runeword for Avenger.

I have thought about this as well. I'm going to use 1 handed + HS until I can find a good, fast two handed weapon and then make a decision.



Oath is pretty sick. It's definitely on the list of dream weapons. I actually respec'ed just so I could see the damage I was doing with Black. It's respectable enough that I'm going to grind my way to a better weapon. The knockback helps with crowd control, but the build will require me to be more patient with my spacing of monsters. This will definitely be a walk.

These are all going to be screenshots from normal. I won't post everything of course, but I end up posting more normal screenshots than a lot of players because I like the struggle of the early game. If it's not your cup o' meat, feel free to wait until this thread gets longer.

Raven - Merc reward was a cold merc who I will probably use the entire game. I haven't decided if I'm going to go with a cold merc from Act 2 NM yet.

So I can make this nasty merc weapon and then forget about it all the way through normal.



The moment you realize a scimitar is actually faster, but this is still fast enough to take me through normal. As fire zealot right now, I don't need physical damage. I need speed.

You know in the late game when a Nagel drops, you be like "oh boy, a Nagel..." But in the early game you're like, "OH BOY! A NAGEL!"
