Hi, I have an older Mac in which I loaded Diablo II. I have no idea where the key is (it's legit).

I'd like to re-download the install clients from Bliz and load my keys onto a new(er) Mac (start fresh, as opposed to just copying the directory over).

I think my recovery email was an email service that is no longer in business (lavabit or something).

Anyway to somehow 'find' the keys on the Mac? Anyone know where they are stored?

How would you just copy the directory over? Pretty sure you can only do that for documents, downloads, etc not applications.

If you're referring to the cdkey, it might be in the registry somewhere? Not sure, Google it.

I tried and nothing came up.

Code
The registration key is encrypted in one of the .mpq files in your installation directory, either patch_d2.mpq or d2data.mpq ... sources I found seemed unsure as to which. Not that it matters, because it's encrypted.

Are your CD-Keys registered on your battle.net account?

Found it, unfortunately its not in favor -

""The registration key is encrypted in one of the .mpq files in your installation directory, either patch_d2.mpq or d2data.mpq ... sources I found seemed unsure as to which. Not that it matters, because it's encrypted.

There are programs "out there" that will extract the key for you, but I would be very careful using them. I haven't used one myself, so I can't recommend any to you, and programs like that are sometimes located on sites that don't necessarily scan everything before it's posted. If you search for "Diablo II key grabber", you should get some hits that might point you in the right direction.""

No, thats his problem.

Installed from disk, lost cd-key.

#edit - might need to buy another one man.

Try one of the sites that sells keys($6).

Obv use Paypal if available!

You can just copy .MPQ file.

Also, there are 3rd party program starting with letter S that can give you keys from mpq file.
