For several reasons. The main ones being :
It will give you an understanding of the most physically demanding sport on the planet
You will fucking love watching the All Black's batter essentially the entire planet game by game
It's all or nothing it's fuckin beautiful
Australia stomps the all blacks all the time

-Every idiot who thinks rugby is more physical than football.
It is. I'm not even bias because I can't stand rugby and don't mind american football despite not understanding it, but rugby players are fucking mad men. It is without a doubt, the most physically rigorous team/field professional sport.
I would say only ice hockey comes and the Irish sport of curling come close. Even aussie rules football is more physically demanding than NFL...
However, as tough as Rugby League and Rugby Union are, they require very minimal fundamental skills and tactics and hardly any aerobic capacity (if any at all). Its basically just big and beefy front rows and quick and agile backs/wings. Similar to NFL in a sense minus the minimal tactics and fundamental skills (applies only to the quarterback and kind of the receivers)
