Keep your head up, brother. Are you physically active? If not, tbh i'd recommend finding a gym and getting some boxing/muay thai training. After high school i felt that way for about a year until i realized no longer doing sports my body felt like shit and it affected my mind. Getting into good shape again while simultaneously challenging my mind with new techniques got me to feel 100%.

one tip here. before to provide advise, its highly recommend that you take the time to listen whats the client issue.. He might be already physically fit so advising him to go in a gym may be out of the track.
in a therapy session, advices help for 10% while 90% of the time a good quality lsitening will help the client to find and develop his (or her) own coping tools, period

Pretty sure for most people, not isolating and having a great set of friends who don't make you feel stressed out IRL is best.

When you hangout online too much you deal with amplified stress levels. People online live in delusional worlds where they will try to piss you off and insult you and threaten your kids/family etcetc but irl those same people are obese wallflowers who collect dolls as hobbies.

Getting of the internet and not dwelling about all his flaws would probably make him A LOT better.

Breaking the routine, yes its a good point. Being surrounded by a good circle of friends prevent you from isolation. Going out (especially in the summer time) definitely help to fresh out your mind.
Being online is not bad but if its all you do, you need to balance your life a bit better
