Found this a little while back.
Gained 7% block chance, lost a bit of movement speed.




Conveniently, right next to Lost City.




After about 25 years, the boys reach the end of this disgusting place.
Combating not only poisonous entities of the underworld, there was the horrid monster De Sync doing plenty work. Relentlessly.
Was it a mistake to take Hem and Ymp? Are you kidding? No man gets left behind.
Except for the Barbarians. They're useless.

I'm standing on this big worm while enjoying the prize I just stole from his chest.
Nothing he could do about any of it.
Does it feel fear, I wonder?

Edit: Maggot Young and Eggs give experience!
They can be used to level/boost quite well. Those in River of Flame for example are level 74 and, in masses, grant solid experience up to a certain point.
I decided not to bother, at least not for now. Mainly because masses of Young are just a total slog for a single-target idiot.

No! In fact, in my case it seemed that Coldworm the Burrower was completely deprived of any AI. (Didn't spawn a single Maggot.)
Which I honestly welcomed in this playthrough -- hacking away at one Young at a time is rather sanity-sapping.

It's not uncommon to meet groups of 30+ Young, because Maggots tend to spawn Eggs at a high pace in earlier patches.
If you have AoE damage and Wall of the Eyeless (+5 mana per kill), Young are obviously fantastic for experience.
Though, in most cases I'll need my shield slot for resistances. I may end up carrying both shields around and equip whatever's appropriate. :-)



Lost City:

The Three Musketeers found and activated the Lost City waypoint.
The two wild men are allowed to leech again, for now.




Conned Fara into buying this from me. What a dork.
Maybe if you decide on vending as an occupation, you should look into the value of things.
I appreciate your skills in healing, though.

Even in 1.00, the "last place you look" law already ruled.




Claw Viper Temple Level 1 posed no problem for the squad.
Equipped with Death's Guard, Mate felt no chill.

Claw Viper Temple Level 2 had an ambush ready for the boys.
Nonetheless, Ymp and Hem joined to support Mate morally. Brave, loyal companions.




It turned out to be too much for the crew.
Ymp and Hem ran back up the stairs, which the skeletons and snakes did not understand how to use. The support was safe.

Mate however was struggling. An unseen entity was keeping him from leaving.
What evil..?

As Mate tried to run up the stairs, it hit him. He had felt these effects before.
He conjured up a Town Portal, and realized he had been fooled to feel like he was in a different place.
The truth had revealed itself. De Sync had been waiting, lurking.
Mate was stuck. He could not leave. He could not defend himself.
There was only one way of escaping certain death.

S&E.




Luckily, Mate wasn't the host. I had prepared myself for this sillyness.
This meant Mate could join the gang right up again. Barely a moment lost.

The universe had decided to spawn Fangskin in a location he was unable to move away from. His big body even blocked his lackey from leaving the area.
Oh, the luck of the boys.




Fangskin and his lackey posed no issue. Their morale had already been broken, surrounded by the corpses of their fallen brethren.
The Amulet is ours. Our destiny is sure.

The Character Screen was a Lying one since the very start.
With Might and Concentration, the damage is about 46 - 61.
