i read this article:
http://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id/23815139/phil-mickelson-withdraw-us-open-bizarre-display-13th-hole-shinnecock-hillsi don't really follow golf, so I am hoping someone can explain to me what he did that was so wrong.
All I can see is that he's mad about losing so he had a brief flash of emotion and did something that can only ever reflect on him personally (he's not hurting any teammates, right?). How many years does someone have to be a great ambassador to the game for them to earn the right to have one momentary lapse of emotional judgement?
He's poured himself into this game forever. He's only a human. Even the leader is trashing the course, wouldn't we expect a competitive person to be extra frustrated if they were in Mickelson's position?
