THEEEE URRNNNNN. that's why. IDK the characters and stories were extremely weird and interesting and compelling back in the day. Like paul beauer being some type of weirdo handler for kane and undertaker as brothers who survived some type of occult upbringing and kane surviving a housefire or something. Papa shango some random voodoo practioner from the jungle with really awkward and spooky music. Razor ramon some guy who freshly immigrated to the US from Cuba that seems to have studied the Scarface film the night before his character role due to his choice in fake voice(which he basically did, lmao).. These are good characters. Today it's MOSTLY rehash typical athlete's acting bigheaded about themselves, but that's just my opinion about WWE. The aspect of roleplaying extreme character portraits was replaced by just adding ego to normal athletic men (not all cases but like 90%+) I enjoy kickboxing and submission grappling, does more for me.
