Yeah I have to replace the catalytic converter on my truck.

I know that I can just cut it off and run a pipe but i want my check engine light to go off.

Anyways I was wondering if any1 know what I can get out of my factory one for scrap value.

They use to be good money in them and people was stealing them like crazy.

It's a 2011 toyota tacoma 4wd 2.7 motor

Was going to scrap it for some money might help with my bill for the new one I ordered

id guess like MABEY 50 bucks

call your local recycling places and ask..... the rate here =/= the rate there

alot of places dont even buy them because they are stolen so often

I was hearing more like close to 200 but that's why I wanted other opinions because I have no idea

I bought the truck used as is so I don't think it has a warranty. But 160k miles

Yeah people steal them like crazy here where I live also that's how I know they have decent value

Ok so I called the local recycling company here.

They told me price varies they would have to lay eyes on it and see what kinda condition it's in.

And they said some goes by code and some goes by what type they are.

So i guess when my new one comes in I'll take it off and go see what it's worth

Alright so I went and crawled under my truck my pipe has two of them on it. I pulled the code off each

This is what toyota is offering me back for them online. One is worth 35 and one is worth 75. Like I said that's to sell back to toyota 5 scrap.

I still don't really know what they are worth at a local recycling company but I would assume pretty close to that. Adds up to 110 total not so bad. I just paid 135 for my new aftermarket one so it will kinda pay for itself

A factory one is 400 dollars so I went with aftermarket. As long as my check engine light goes off I'm happy.

i wouldve just cut it off and made a dummy o2 sensor to fix the cel but thats just me

Do you by chance have the front caliper clearance on size wheel?

i suggest dont go cheap. sometimes go cheap is more expensive. gl.
