Planned Parenthood of Arkansas & Eastern Oklahoma v. Jegley

Quote
“Arkansas is now shamefully responsible for being the first state to ban medication abortion," Dawn Laguens, Planned Parenthood Federation of America executive vice president, said in an emailed statement. "This dangerous law also immediately ends access to safe, legal abortion at all but one health center in the state."

The criminal law requires clinics that perform medication abortions to have a contractual relationship with a doctor who has admitting privileges at a hospital. The suing clinics say no obstetrician in the state will agree to the required contract.

The rebuff marks a shift in fortunes for abortion-rights advocates, who in 2016 won a similar Supreme Court fight over a Texas law that threatened to shutter three-quarters of the state’s clinics. Among the provisions the court invalidated was a requirement that abortion doctors get hospital admitting privileges.

Glad to know SCOTUS is still moderate. The challenge of the new law was blatant obstructionism.

Arkansas will hopefully be the first state to abolish the outdated practice of abortion.

>says entitlement reform so often it might be a nervous tick
>wants more poor people babies
>justifies anti-abortion stance based on scripture
>ignores any scripture about helping the poor because 'muh taxes

i'm still on the fence about women who get abortions being able to get into my most strict idea of heaven. what i'm not on the fence about is if they get them with no tax payer contribution it's not my problem if they get into heaven, nor if their baby is tossed into the depths of hell.

i'm curious how this plays out in terms of medication abortions vs. invasive procedure abortions.

obviously this will reduce the total number of abortions, as a woman is more likely to take a pill than sit through an invasive procedure. but for a woman who is dead set on the abortion, is this an actual hurdle to getting one?

She’ll just get the normal procedure, unless it gets banned too for whatever reason. Then it depends on her situation, you either get to pay for her kid until it’s an adult, adopt it or she throws it in a dumpster.

One clinic in an entire state seems like an actual hurdle at the moment.

agreed, and a bit confused why endless sees this as anything other than that. i guess when you get SCOTUS + Abortion it's instantly news worthy.

Statistics lean yes. Back alley abortions are more common now because leftists pushed the acceptance, now the reverse will happen

Even though Trump is an objectively bad president, and a horrible person, at least he saved the Supreme Court from the liberals.
