How are people voting no.....?

Yeah I've got no idea what drawback there would be or what reason anyone could have to vote no. Seems like a no brainer.

Thanks for backing my idea.

It could eventualy also make the "tracking page" not be a page at all for more efficiency. Click track and you track it. No duration, note etc page appear.

When you sub to a topic you are asked the duration every time. It's very easy to move it up with the drop down at the time of subscription. Considering the topic tracker is used mainly for trade topics and trade topics generally don't need to be tracked for more than a week, I think the default is appropriately set and does not need to be configurable.

In order to do this would require a drop down box somewhere in settings. I don't feel this is important enough or valuable enough to add something like that.
Currently you can track (and change duration when doing so), or go to topic tracker and edit it (up to a year). You can also do this for all your tracked topics at once.
Also given the opposite reasoning, some topics I would want to get out of my topic tracker after a few days (rather than default of a month, or what not).

While I like the thought behind the suggestion, I don't feel it's valuable enough given you can already do this basically and the same logic it has going for it, also goes against it.

You can also see all of your topics from the last 30 days in your Profile -> View Recent Topics

There is a lot of stickies around, informative topics, guides. It is ment to track a topic you want to follow. Doesnt matter what it was made for, it matters what people use it for. To say that it is mainly for trade topics may be your opinion. I guess a lot of users dont even do trading ortrades at all, mainly other stuff.

I agree that you would want a lot of posts to go out after a short amount of days, but it takes less effort to uncheck them and click unfollow.

As you guys gave it your thoughts and I got 50% of the no votes the last day, Ill stop bump it :)

You are correct that it doesn't matter what it was designed for but it does matter HOW it's currently being used. My statement about how it is used is not just my opinion, it's actually how the system is currently being used.
