I always thought that the drop rate / item quality rate should be scaled to the size of player base.

When we had a 200 online players base, it was ok for items to be super rare to drop. we still had 1 or 2 big finds weekly.

With the current player base, there are like 2 big finds per year.

When you play a game like ladderslasher, finding items are one of the most exciting things to happen. If they don't, you end up losing interest. I don't have a huge story in this game, but I've done around 500 climbs. I had only 1 big find. (5k+ worth item)

Also, I never saw a 200+ ee item dropping. I've done a lot of mirror mazes when I was UA member. So I played EP's at super high levels.

Anyway, I think about playing this game again every week, but the exciting part of the game nowadays, in my opinion, is a "door opening game". That's all about it. Diablo didn't succeed because of killing diablo/baal, but because the items you gathered during the way and killing them.

I know that if it changes, a lot of players will eventually come back.

Baby steps. Paul has implemented events which has been a step in the right direction. He has made whites sellable another step in the right direction. I have a feeling another update will be in the near future that will get more players back.

I just wish we could get a little more / regular collaboration with Paul. When he makes a post, the forum has lots of activity.

It would be nice if he would comment on more stuff. Like some of our suggestions; is it futile for us to continue to bump? Tell us that’s not the direction he sees. Would he like to see the thought fleshed out more? Could it be part of a future update?

But ofc +1 for better drop rates for atleast avg stuff..



I’m talking about making fg off ladder slasher. The whites as sellable was good. I just miss the old muting system.

You mean you arent willing to spend several years muting so you can watch arcane+ items turn into magic ess?

The old muting system was too OP.

The current system is how it should of worked, but with prof gains like 3 - 5x what hey actually are. Also the chances of magical out of an arcane needs fixed.

People just got spoiled on a bad muting system that left a sour taste when it was rightly removed.

Respectfully disagree... The only reason the game had the community it did was because it was possible to find items and gamble your luck muting. Now that power requires you to take part in what might be the most boring minigame ever for YEARS in order to do it. Removing the old muting style was literally the beginning of the end for this game.

completely agree with that !

coming back to the entire post, the argument of spending 15K+ for getting decent gear to play with is totally outdated.
As Herolinda already said - getting solid gear for 1-2 different chars shouldnt cost more than 3-4 K currently !
