I've been parroting this for years.
It's an island of liberalism in a sea of 7th century barbarism. One of the only places outsides the western world where you're walking distance from a mosque, temple, church and gay parade. Go to one of their neighboring countries and being 2/4 of those things is enough to get you assaulted at the very least.
