In a nutshell.

Rares pretty much need 20ias base, 2sox high ed and maybe -reqs.

I tried (and failed) to find a quote I read once, but it basically said something like a normal robo worth a few hundred fg is better than a rare that cost a couple of thousand and an expensive robo worth a couple of thousand would need a 10k fg+ rare to beat it.

/e a robo is referring to a 5 socket 3sk/15ed ashwood bow with 2x shaels and 3 damage jewels (typically 20ed 15max or 24max although one rare jewel with -req is nice).

Robo is any weapon made by jeweling a plain socketed weapon. Robo Naga = 6 socket Naga with 2 shaels and 4x 15/20 jewels. Robo bows are typically best with -15% reqs in them. This brings the Str req down to 47, allowing you to str glitch sharkskin or light plated boots. It's good to go light plated though because sometimes Vidala's Fetlock are invaluable (lld zons have really low stamina)

All LLD robos should be in a 15/3 +3 ashwood base. Some examples of jeweling:
Beginner: 2x shael, 3x 15/20 jewel or 24 max
Good: 2x shael, 2x 15/20 or 24 max, the best max/ed/-req jewel you can find
Perfect: 2x shael, 2x 20ed/8-18 dmg jewels or 2x 20ed/18 max/9dex, 1x 20ed/9 max/9 dex/-15 req or 20ed/18 max/-15 req or 18 max/9 dex/-15 req (not sure which would turn out better, never looked into it)

You will never make a perfect one, but trying to aim for the best you can get between the "Good" and the "Perfect" examples is pretty much what you'll want to do.

That's what i call an informative, objective post. Thanks.

Although the "Robo"-part, i still don't get ^^

And i guess people pay good fg for such jewels? I know what to keep now.

It is called a "robo" because the first person to make such an item popular was a BvB player in 1.09 whose online handle was robo-something. I don't remember the exact details of his username or which items he was making exactly, but it was something like ethereal/zod/jewels/eth rune weapons. Back then, most BvB would either use CCBoQ (cruel colossus blade of quickness with 3os, rolled using a cube), or one of these "robo" weapons. Then people figured out how to take the runes out of a runeword but keep the bonuses there, and the most popular bvb weapon became something called an 'Ith' weapon, where people would make the runeword Silence into an ethereal colossus blade and then take the runes out and put in zod/jewels/eth runes to end up with a much, much more powerful version of a basic "robo"

Probably that story isn't perfect, maybe not even close to perfect, but it went something like that
