It's just a forum mate, calm your tits.

On topic : I'd love to offer my help but I'm working 60-70hours a week lately. If you feel behind on what's new with the game, the best way is to just restart playing and google away. Poe wiki has most of the stuff you'll need to find!

How do you think this forum ruined D2 exactly? You mean the ability to trade items with the forum currency, etc?

What are some negatives you think of? Personally, don't you think it has helped the game immensely since trading in-game was a PITA?

I am just looking for discussion, I'm not trying to be argumentative just genuinely curious about your thoughts on it, as everyone is different

D2 trading was ass; gold had no value and you only had so much space for currency/items. If anything, these forums helped D2. D3 had it's own auction house and people buying items for thousands of dollars without the help of jsp or similar sites. PoE already uses a 3rd party trade site because GGG is convinced they made a single-player game. Runescape already has Dev-sponsored RWT via bonds. The same can be said about WoW for game time tokens. Trading Plat in Warframe is allowed and encouraged. These are just the ones off the top of my head.

The mere idea that these forums, and others like it, destroy games is just laughable.

I feel like most of those examples implemented RWT after the industry realized RWT is very common and they cant control it.
"You can't beat 'em join 'em" (and try to profit from RWT as a company).

You also didnt address the big issue for people, who claim RWT destroys games.
The whole "new league/league reset, so let me spend fg and buy myself a lead to control the market."
Or how the other things they claim ruins the game.
You simply viewed this site as 3rd party trading site without the main fg aspect.

E/ I don't really care to take a side and argue, just thought I'd point this out.

Yes. That is an issue. However, the functionality and ease-of use of trading here (especially for d2), outweighs that. By a lot I feel. In other words, it's a partial double edged sword. But it has to be there, or the trading wouldn't really work

Trust me, it was not a "cant beat em, join em," revelation, it was a "dang, look at this untapped demand for a product we can supply," business decision.

My point is that RWT isn't bad for games, nor does it destroy them, especially in such a small amount as what happens on this site and others like it. I illustrated this by highlighting a half dozen flourishing games on this form, some of which facilitate their own version of RWT. So, actually, yes, I did address the issue, and no, I didn't fail to factor in that this site has fg as its method of RWT.
