For some reason, whatever I download won't run the installation. E.g I've tried installing ShareX/Puush/Greenlight and they all download, but when I double click to install nothing comes up
Any tips?

Sometimes that little window thing that pops up that says are you sure you want to run this will show up in a different "desktop". Hit the win key and tab and you will be able to see anything that is open. This was my issue when i first installed win 10.

No luck. :(
did you check your firewall settings?
sometimes a simple rightclick and "run as administrator" helps.
i will check again, when i am at home in the evening.
best regards,
pete

Suddenly a much bigger issue now
PC won't connect to the Internet. "Ethernet can't configure valid ip address'. I've tried everything Google brings up and even tried resetting and safe mode
Any way to reinstall Windows without the disc?

win 10 can be reinstalled via a boot device like a usb.

Here is the link from Microsoft about it:

I see that you are using wired connection. Have you tried restarting your router/modem?
