I have left the nintendo switch on since i got it like a year ago? is that bad? I just turn the tv off while it remains running.

It's better to turn it off if your not playing anything on it.

The switch does have a sleep mode mate

best option is to turn it off and never play it

At this point just never shut it off and see how long it lives.

I always put it on sleep mode.

I would assume after a few hours of inactivity it puts its self in rest mode. Atleast that’s what my PS4 does.

When you go to play your switch after or day of not playing, do you need to press a button to wake it up?

Also. Wtf. Why have you never turned it off, or manually put it to rest???? What a waste.

It does if you are on the home screen yes.
You can also make it go into rest mode by holding the home button and selecting sleep mode.

To wake it you just hold the home button
