What version of windows?
Also I haven't tried it on such old hardware. Are you sure this isn't Athlon 64 with an x16 PCI-E configuration?

I've tried this with 3 of my systems and works across all of them.
7700HQ + GTX 1050 (laptop)
4790k + 2x GTX 970 (kinda outdated gaming system)
Ryzen 1700 + GT 1030 (Server)

Correct. This is not windows 10 which the guide are for :)
Have you tried the 125% option to see if i works?

Oh, haven't tried it. Don't wanna restart and put it back on when done testing it. :lol:
