Well I've been playing Diablo 2 single player on laptop for the last couple of months. Tho the size of the window has annoyed me quite a bit specially when playing on a 1080p 15.6" laptop. Since I really want youtube on the second half of the screen. This is a less of a problem for me on my multiple monitor gaming desktop.

Diablo 2 has no option to resize your window either it's the same as game resolution 800x600/640x480 or you can maximize it to reach from the top to bottom of the screen.

Problem with this. The 800x600 because to small on high resolution monitors and maximize makes it to pixelated. Also you cannot have like a browser or video on the second half the screen as the D2 window takes to much room in maximized state.
You could change the resolution on your monitor, but this will make everything more pixelated.

I found a workaround!

Open your Diablo 2 in windowed mode -> Right click on your wallpaper -> Select Display Settings -> Under change the size of your text, apps and other items -> select a higher percentage (I go from 100 til 125%) -> Now maximize your window (click the square in the corner of your d2 window) -> Now set the percentage back to the original number.
This makes the window the ideal size for me. But depending on your resolution and screen size you might want a different setting.

The item types in the bottom is what set items I'm missing. I'm doing holy grail (finding all unique/set). I sadly first startet doing this like 3 days ago. Well at least I've kept all the most rare ones like TC84 and TC87 items.
All the numbers in the in front of the text is the page number of where the different items are. I have extended stash.

You can also see I have a holy grail google.docs open over in tabs. Here i cross off the items I find. But it's faster now to see what type of set items I'm missing with the text document right under the game itself.

All of this is just because my memory is pretty shitty.

If you want to play full screen in a window with a Diablo II application, you just need to add after -w for the windowed mode :

-nofixaspect

including the space before the command needed.

The stretch looks horrible to me. Also this seems to be a pretty well known command.
