I’ve read a lot of different build guides for paladins to achieve fbr, fhr, and max damage reduced..

What is max damaged reduced? My understanding was 50% is max damage reduced. Holy shield alone at level 34 gives 40% max damage reduced... so why does almost every paladin wear 2x ber coas, ber hoz, 15 dr dingo? What exactly am I missing here?? To achieve 50 dr you could use holy shield and a basic shako for total of 50dr, no?

Do all these paladin build guides ASSUME holy shield is maxed?
Holy shield also gives 39% fhr... do these guys take this into account to when hitting 86 fhr bp? All of the pally guides I’ve read don’t mention these values anywhere..

Holy shield does NOT reduce damage.
Edit: also HS doesn't give you fhr. Where did you get this?
