Although QT is objectively wrong and his main argument is terrible, there is a slight amount of validity nestled underneath his idiotic stance.

I'd be ok with a change to rename the crime of 'statutory rape' to a new name that does not have the word 'rape' in it. Kinda like murder and manslaughter being 2 different crimes with 2 completely different names because they are completely different in nature. People who commit DUI manslaughter shouldn't be lumped in with those who commit premeditated murder.

QT's claim is that the girl was lying in court and she did actually intend to consent to sex in the moment. If that's the case (and I'm not saying it is) then, legally, there would be no distinction between Polanski's rape and a situation where an 19 year old has sex with his 16 year old girlfriend. The word 'rape' has become a buzzword these days and I don't like seeing so many things get lumped into it. It would be nice if we could start deconstructing that word and develop new terms for each situation to differentiate them from each other.

:hail: . Well said man.

QT is kinda nuts no matter how you look at it though, he's incredibly intelligent and talented at what he does, and because of that, he's become increasingly arrogant and it's to the point where even reporters just asking buzz questions to fill time, usually end up getting chewed the fuck out because he hates being asked stupid questions. His character, thoughts, wtf ever are all irrelevant to whether or not I like his films. He's a brilliant director, it doesn't matter if I'd want to hang out with him or not. I feel the same about guys like Spacey too. Ya, maybe he's a piece of shit or a weirdo, but he's still a fucking brilliant actor, him being a fucking creeper doesn't lessen his talent.

Vouch, but this looks like it'll surpass even that.

DiCaprio
Pitt
Robbie

I'm losing it thinking about this cast lol. Pitt isn't the best actor of all time or anything (not even fucking close), but based on what Tarantino was able to get out of him in Bastards, I'd be willing to wager this will be one of his strongest performances ever, and DiCaprio is a goddamn fucking genius on film. Robbie has also done nothing but impress me over and over, and her latest performance in I, Tanya, was straight  . I'm so fucking hyped right now for this.
