So Zoe does have elements of a control mage, yes.

Control mage
Mainly creating zones that are unfavorable to fight (generally alot of aoe dmg/cc)

Alot of viable mid champs have control aspects to them lol. You can zone with the threat of dmg (e.g. Sandra balls azir soldiers) or the more obvious ones in the form of soft/hard cc ( vik w, anivia r veigar e etc) or physical barriers (taliyah r, anivia w, azir r). The whole point of a contol mage is have more control than other mages to dictate where enemy is allowed to go.

There are other champs that can do this but not for prolonged amounts of time for a given teamfight

Anivia and taliyah are the big ones.

The way you word it makes it sound like you want a split push mid
Personally love tp mids and ones that can roam
corki/ryze/taliyah are a good start

ive been playing corki alot and hes great outta lane, but i want somebody who has more lane pressure
anivia seems like it would fall into the same boat of not really winning lane but just out farming them

seems like ahri/malz the way to go?

as an adc main i can promise u if u play veigar im going to get tilted from getting 1 shot in team fights xd
