I need to build a new rig. I’m going to cap my budget at $3500.

Need everything. Monitors, mouse, keyboard, OS, etc.

Help with a build would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Edit: Would like 2-3 monitors.

I don't try to pick keyboards and mice... too personal.

You can buy a Windows 10 Pro x64 license on Kinguin or Ebay for like $28 and just get the Win 10 Pro ISO, here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Thank you. It looks like a solid build. I’ve been out of the game for a little while. Last time I built, I had a pc with 2x 2gb video cards and it was gg haha.

Due to bitcoin miners, the prices of vid cards went thru the roof. :/

/e It got so bad that for a while all the vid cards were out of stock. The GTX 1080Ti should cost approx. $700.

The monitors cost a bundle because they are IPS, 165Hz and support Gsync.

Here are the decent 27" monitors, that have TN rather than IPS panels, and don't support Gsync, but are 144Hz or better.

The 144 hz monitor would be for gaming, the 75hz would be for watching movies/multitasking. The larger aspect ratio gives you a lot more screen space to work with, as well as eliminating the black bars when watching movies and whatnot because it's the same aspect ratio as they use in movie theaters. (the actual picture would be the same size as like a normal 40" TV)
Mouse and keyboard are all personal preference, choose which you think you will like more.

Both solid builds from the looks.

Odds are I won’t use the computer to watch many movies. Have TVs for that. Would much prefer to have matching monitors. Computer will be used mostly for gaming and schoolwork.

Also I know this is sacrilege from the gaming community but the wife might be happier if we have a laptop we can both use. By “might” I mean she has already said so. In worst case scenario, if I went the laptop route and around the same price range, what would be your recommendations?

Anyone make any recommendations on this? Any insight?
I’ve done some google searches and trying to decide but I’d like some suggestions if possible.
