Pre-sleeved cables with any modular PSU.
There's no short cuts and as someone that's sleeved his own PSU it's not really worth the time.

Doesn't seem so bad IF there were no dual wires, jumpers, etc.
That's the part I was hoping to avoid lol.

Would also be nice if pin layouts remained 1:1, 2:2, etc.

I suppose I'll just try my hand at making custom length extensions

With my current setup I have way too much extra cabling.
Even though you can't see it, I know it's there

you say that now but just wait.
And if you do it buy the tools. Hate myself for not buying the tools.
Think mine took 16 hours roughly.

Haha yeah I know the difference they can make.

I borrowed some stuff and attempted the process using paracord on old scrap wire. I have nicer stuff coming in the mail.

Bought knipex self adjusting strippers and recommended crimpers from a sleeving site. Flush cutting snips. Also a pin removal tool.

Hope I don't kill my pc lol.
Should be safe if I start with just extensions though

I had none of that...
Just paracord and some shrink wrap tubing.
Used staples as a pin removal tool.
Probably also didn't help I had a semi modular PSU.
Made things more annoying if anything.

I learned my lesson working on cars / house.

Invest in the right tools and save yourself time, headaches, and most likely $, Because you'll probably end up paying to fix something you broke lol

My current psu is semi modular as well, which is why I was looking for recommendations.

I suppose custom extensions are probably good starting place anyway

... why? Who will be looking at your power supply and does it provide any benefit in computer performance?

Called a hobby should get one.
It's for aesthetics, also anyone near my desk can see it.
