"I'm sorry, your ... your father is dead."
Tomur-Oul felt a numbness come over him. It was like his mind was shutting off his senses in order to avoid a total meltdown. After what could have been an eternity, he managed a barely audible, "H-how?".
"Diablo's minions. One of those fucking exploding dolls!"
Tomur's numbness turned to rage. His father was Trang-Oul, a hero. A hero who battled against the evils of Hell itself. He had studied under his father and he knew that the mission to destroy Diablo and his Brothers was now his to undertake.
But was he ready? He had studied his father's work extensively and trained with him often, but he was never allowed to join on the actual quests. He was always left behind to study curses or practice brewing poisons. If only he could have some sort of help from his father, some way to connect with him through the Void.
And then it hit him. His father once told him that during the transitional phase between the Void and the Physical Plane, parts of ones soul can soak into objects nearby oneself. Trang had worn the same set of armor for his entire adult life. He wore it through countless experiments involving the manipulation of the Void and many souls - including his own.
Some parts of my father's soul must still remain within his beloved armor set! He thought. His objective was clear: he must hunt down and re-unite all pieces of his father's armor set which he had undoubtedly lost during his adventures. He was not sure if he would be able to find all the pieces, or what would happen if he did... but he knew that it was his only hope to connect with his father for help in defeating Diablo.
"Where did this happen?" Tomur asked the extremely hideous man named Frank.
"I'm not sure where exactly it happened, but a travelling bard mentioned to me that a powerful hero was heading towards the Rogue Encampment to aid them with their troubles." said hideous Frank.
He had no other place to start. He grabbed a small pack and filled it with his father's book of curses, a few potions, and some scrolls. He didn't have a real weapon, he only had his apprentice's wand which he used for training. It would have to do...
